The selfish gene
At the beginning of the text I noticed that the name involved science there for it was going to be a scientific explanation throw out the novel. The author suggests that natural selection is part of what makes humanity selfish that we have it in our gene pool. That animals like baboons do everything for the best of the population, this is what he defines as altruistic in the first chapters. Now the human population will do any thing to get a benefit out of every situation.
I believe we have a selfish part in all of us not a gene but a part of us. We have the choice to be selfish or altruistic we are not forced to be either one we chose.
